November 14: For the current season beginning October 1, 2011 the Avalanche Center has
posted 2 reports with a total of 2 fatalities. Our database now contains reports
on 1674 avalanches since October 1, 1998.

Avalanche Incident - Canada - Snowmobiling |
|
The first Canadian fatality for the 2011-12 season happened near Prince George on Nov 13. The body
of the snowmobiler was recovered during a break in conditions on the 14th.

The first US fatality for the 2011-12 season happened in Utah on Nov 13. A skier at Snowbird was
swept over cliff bands and died of trauma. The ski area was not opened for the season yet.
